WhatsApp Introduces Search by Date Feature for Android: Simplifying Chat Navigation

WhatsApp has introduced a new feature for Android users, allowing them to search individual and group chats by date. This functionality, already available on iOS, Mac desktop, and WhatsApp Web, was announced by Mark Zuckerberg via his WhatsApp channel, accompanied by a video demonstrating its usage.

To utilize the feature, users can access chat details, tap the search button, and then select the calendar icon to search for chats on specific dates. Additionally, users can already search conversations by media type, such as links, media, and documents, through the conversation detail page.

WhatsApp has also been testing other search-related features, including chat filters like "All," "Unread," "Contacts," and "Groups," with further developments such as a "Favorites" filter in progress.


Recent Enhancements:

Recent enhancements include new text formatting options such as bulleted lists, numbered lists, block quotes, and inline code support for both individual and group chats, alongside the introduction of Channels.
